A Word On Covid-19 From The Office

A Word On Covid-19 From The Office

Hello and welcome to “The Office of Kidney & Hypertension Consultants” In this section we would like to keep you up to date on office information.

COVID-19 has been a challenging time for all of us. We have transitioned from seeing all patients in office (prior to COVID 19) to having all virtual appointments. Now we are excited to say we are starting to offer a combination of both. While some of you may feel more comfortable doing a virtual visit (explanation below) we completely understand and want to still be able to meet your Nephrology needs through a virtual visit. While others may prefer that face to face appointment we will meet your Nephrology needs with a visit in office. While we are slowly transitioning to being back in the office full time please be patient with us while we do so. This will mean our day is a mix of virtual and in office patients.

How does a virtual visit work? We will schedule you an appointment date and time Approximately at your appointment
time the medical assistant will call you and go over all of your medications, so please have those ready. If you are able to
obtain your weight and blood pressure prior to her calling that would also be appreciated. However, if you do not have the ability to do that we understand. If you need assistance at your home from a family member please have them arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time. After the medical assistant is done going over all of your medication she will either text or email you a link (based on your preference). Once you receive the link it will ask for your name. Please enter your name. Some phones may ask you to grant access to your camera, please say yes. Once that is done you will then be in the virtual waiting room and the provider will join you when he/she is ready. This will be a face to face appointment over the phone/computer. We are proud to say it is a very simple option– there are no accounts to create or apps to download. If you are struggling, our medical assistant will gladly assist you.

Our response to COVID-19

COVID-19 is primarily spread from person-to-person via the respiratory droplets released when an infected person coughs, speaks or even breathes.

SOCIAL DISTANCING aims to prevent this spread by reducing close contact between people. It may sound inconvenient, but it’s a social responsibility we should all take seriously.

HOW CAN I HELP? Stay home if you are sick. A face mask or cloth covering is required at all office locations. This must cover your nose and mouth at all times. Give as much space between you and other patients and staff as possible. Practice proper hand washing hygiene and/or including the use of hand sanitizer.

PPE: Protective Personal Protective Equipment – you will see us wearing more protective equipment than in the past. This is to help prevent the spread of COVID 19. We may be wearing gowns; a face shield or goggles, face masks etc. Do not be alarmed or feel scared because we have these items on. It is for your protection and ours, to help stop the spread of germs.

CLEANING: Please know that we are taking extra precautions to ensure our office is a clean environment. We are disinfecting all frequently touched surfaces several times throughout the day. We are cleaning and disinfecting each exam room after every patient.

THANK YOU & STAY SAFE!
